We are in June already… Where has this year gone already?! I didn’t upload much to Country Frantics in the month of May due to it being a very busy month to say the least. I attended lots of different events, caught up with friends, family and generally was just busy. I don’t know about you but I feel if I sat down and posted about every single event I went to it could get quite boring to read, especially if there is not much to write about. I want to keep my blog fun and interesting which is why I have come up with Monthly Memoris – At the end of each month I am going to post a catch up with an overview of what I have been doing that month and then I will write individual posts on events or subjects I feel are interesting enough to have a separate post.
So what did I get up to in May? Well, let me tell you..
I attended my first Land Rover show being a part of the Land Rover Enthusiasts! Very exciting! My boyfriend and his family have their own club where they go to different shows over the UK to show their custom built and re-built new and old Land Rovers! This event however, was a small one at Gaydon Car Museum so they didn’t tow their show cars or pitch up the club, we just went to have a look for the weekend. It was great looking round the museum seeing all the Land Rover’s used for films and even the queens first Land Rover! I decided to book a hotel for my boyfriend and I to stay in round the corner so we could make a weekend of it which was lovely. The others came and met us for dinner on the Saturday night. I thoroughly enjoyed expanding my knowledge on Land Rovers and spending time with Ben’s family, getting to know them better. We haven’t been in a relationship together that long so it was a bonding weekend to say the least! I am the type of girl that loves spending time with family and close friends.. That is what I live for apart from horses.. Obviously!
The original Tomb Raider & Shaun The Sheep
I also attended Rockingham Horse Trials which was sponsored by Fairfax & Favor! An event that every equestrian had in their diary this year and a great one at that. I travelled the 2 hour journey there on the Sunday morning and the sun was shining! I took my GSP Juniper with me for company as I went on my own. My boyfriend was supposed to come with me but he let me down last minute – Due to me being a strong independent woman that doesn’t need no man I decided to go on my own with Juniper – Girls day! She has not been to an event like that before so she was over excited and loved every minute! It was so nice to be able to park the car up and watch the Cross Country from the boot of the Landy! I did the usual.. Shopping of course! I tried to minimise my spending this time and only ended up walking out with a pair of Fairfax & Favor Boot Tassels (Forest Green), The Rockingham edition Fairfax & Favor Cap and a HiHo Silver Snaffle Ring! If you haven’t heard of either of these brands you should head over to their website, you can thank me later! It was a great day.. Sitting on straw bales with a Pimm’s in hand watching the show jumping.. What more could you want?! Just don’t try and eat an ice cream while holding a lively young GSP – It does not end well! I also got to meet up with some of my fellow bloggers and instagram friends, which is always nice to come together at these events!

Gaydon Land Rover Show & Rockingham Horse Trials were the main two events that I attended in the month of May but I also joined in with the Instagram Horse Riders Challenge created by The Farriers Wife – I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge posting pictures daily of the life of being an equestrian or a horse owner. I loved looking at everyone else’s pictures as well #thehorseriderschallenge I thought it was a great way to club together all the people on instagram that share the same interests! I look forward to more challenges like this in the future! Well done to everyone that completed and took part in the challenge, your pictures were great!
